Schuster Inc., is a specialized architecture and design firm focused on creating extraordinary restaurant and hospitality experiences. Founded in 2010, we have completed well over one hundred projects. We are based in Houston, but through our clients, we have been able to transport our work all over the world, producing successful restaurant designs in eleven states as well as Italy, Poland, Argentina and Nigeria.
Our simple goal, and our passion, is to create a truly special and enduring dining experience for our unique clients and their guests.
We believe that the method for achieving this kind of experience is a difficult and fragile one. Our process however, which has evolved over decades (with the wisdom of the industry’s leaders), has proven to deliver just this level of experience – and success.
We believe that the right hospitality experience is simply irresistible. We believe that it will, by its very nature, exceed its competition in allure and appeal. We don’t believe in the honey moon or the meteoric rise but rather, over time, captivating each guest with an indescribable experience.
Most recently, we worked with a world renowned New York chef to develop a new concept at the highest price point and for the most discerning guest. We avoided the easy and obvious solutions and opted for a deliberate, understated approach that will likely sustain the current success for many, many years. Bludorn is now a highly regarded reservation not only in Houston but across the nation.
Though most of our attention is focused on restaurants, we are often invited into other arenas, including retail, resort, entertainment and residential. One example being NCAA Basketball and Turner Sports engaging us to plan and design the Fan Fest in downtown Houston for the Final Four weekend. An entire section of downtown was transformed into a multi-venue festival based on our strategy and design.
While we enjoy a notable project, our existence and our gratitude go to our faithful clients who support us through thick and thin. We love our craft, but love our clients even more.
about our founder
In retrospect, Craig may have discovered his passion for restaurants with an extended stay in Venice, while studying abroad in Italy. Short on money but long on time, he wandered into a tiny café and was mesmerized with the setting. It was not the specific aesthetic that was so captivating, but actually just a unique combination of elements. This collection of the right stuff resulted in an emotion that was hard to capture in words, but unmistakable in person.
Words that encircle this feeling are comfort, warmth and freedom. The comfort of home, but also a place in our imagination that we have dreamt about. The warmth of a safe place where we are not challenged or provoked but taken care of. The freedom of place where the timeless familiarity, and perhaps the view, unlock our thoughts to wander.
